UAE and women

If women alone decides to travel to the UAE she does not have to worry. But it is important to mention some main differences of the Muslim world.

Women are usually ignored on most places, so prepare to the situation that hardly anyone will talk to you. But women who are not covered will not escape to the hawk-eyed local men who like to comment. We recommend not to react to them. Also we recommend to travel in long loose trousers and long sleeved shirts.

Of course women are free to go anywhere in the hotel, the same is with bathing on hotel beaches. But careful! You are not allowed to bathe „topless“ anywhere! Concerning the swimsuit, follow the others.

In th Muslim world, there is one essential difference to our world. Man gives hand first! It is unthinkable that women offers hand first. Often men do not shake hands with women at all.
